Kevin Durant scored 28 points in his first game back from a knee injury to help the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 114-109 victory over the visiting Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

Durant hit 8-of-16 field-goal attempts and 11-of-12 free throws as the Thunder (14-7) barely held on after leading by 20 points entering the final quarter.

Stephen Curry scored a season-high 39 points for Golden State (8-12). The Warriors have lost three straight games and 10 of their last 12.

Monta Ellis hit a 3-pointer with 23.7 seconds to play to pull Golden State within three points, but the Warriors couldn’t get any closer.

Russell Westbrook had 19 points and 13 assists for Oklahoma City and Serge Ibaka added 19 points and eight rebounds. Ibaka made 8-of-10 shots.

Ellis scored 29 points for Golden State.

Curry made 14-of-20 field-goal attempts, hit four 3-point shots and had six assists in his top performance of the season.

Jeff Green added 17 points for the Thunder.
