Russell Westbrook scored 36 points on his 22nd birthday and Kevin Durant added 34 as the Oklahoma City Thunder picked it up down the stretch in a 110-108 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.

James Harden, Serge Ibaka and Nenad Krstic added 12 points apiece for Oklahoma City, which hit 24-of-26 free throws.

The Thunder grabbed an 84-80 lead when Westbrook capped a 7-0 run with a pair of free throws at the 2:11 mark in the third quarter. Portland adjusted at that point, however, scoring the final seven points of the quarter to take an 87-84 lead into the fourth.

The Trail Blazers led 92-84 before Oklahoma City got back into it, pulling within 97-95 on Westbrook’s 3-pointer with 5:07 remaining. After Rudy Fernandez hit a 3-pointer to make it 100-95, the Thunder ran off 10 straight points, including eight in a row by Durant, to take a 105-100 lead with 1:29 left.

Westbrook and Durant combined to score the final 18 points for Oklahoma City.

Brandon Roy finished with 24 points and Nicolas Batum added 21 for Portland.
