Al Jefferson scored 15 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter and the Utah Jazz welcomed back All-Star point guard Deron Williams with a 113-106 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday.

Williams, who missed four games with a wrist injury, had 26 points and 12 assists as the Jazz (30-21) snapped a six-game losing streak on the road and a five-game slide at Denver. Jefferson had 10 rebounds.

Carmelo Anthony scored 31 points, including 17 for 18 from the free-throw line for the Nuggets (29-21), who had won six of their last seven at home. Nene, who leads the NBA in field-goal percentage, added 28 points on 10-for-12 shooting.

The game had a playoff feel with plenty of physical play, especially in the fourth quarter when Denver’s J.R. Smith was ejected with 6:45 remaining after he committed a flagrant-2 foul on Raja Bell.

Denver trailed by 10 with 5:05 left before closing to 107-104 on a pair of free throws by Anthony with two minutes left, but Jefferson’s three-point play with 51.2 seconds left gave Utah a 110-104 lead.

C.J. Miles finished with 13 points as the Jazz improved to 19-4 when he has 13 or more and 22-3 when they score 100 or more points.

The Nuggets outscored the Jazz at the free-throw line, 32-17, as the teams combined to shoot 49 for 54.
