George Hill scored 29 points off the bench as San Antonio broke out to a big early lead and cruised to a 114-97 win over the visiting Phoenix Suns on Sunday, halting the Spurs' six-game losing skid.

The Spurs broke out to a 24-point halftime lead and let the bench play the majority of the second half, leaving none of the starters to rack up more than 27 minutes in the one-sided victory. Matt Bonner had 16 points and Gary Neal added 15 as San Antonio (58-19) ended its longest losing streak in nearly 14 years.

The triumph moves the Spurs three games up on the Los Angeles Lakers atop the Western Conference standings. The Lakers dropped a 95-90 decision to the Denver Nuggets on Sunday.

Aaron Brooks and Channing Frye had 14 points apiece to pace the Suns (37-39), who aren't mathematically eliminated from the postseason picture but have effectively run out of time. Phoenix had to make do without point guard Steve Nash, who missed his second straight game with an illness.

The Spurs used a 3-point barrage to subdue the Suns, making 15 of 29 attempts from beyond the arc.
