Ryan Gomes’ put-back broke a tie with 37.7 seconds left and helped propel the Los Angeles Clippers to a dramatic 99-95 upset of the visiting New Orleans Hornets on Monday.

Gomes rebounded a miss by Eric Gordon and scored to break a tie at 93 as the Clippers (2-13) ended a nine-game losing skid.

Gordon scored 27 points and Blake Griffin had 24 points and 13 rebounds as Los Angeles broke a 14-game losing streak against New Orleans.

David West had 30 points and 10 rebounds for New Orleans (11-2) but had a pass from Chris Paul bounce off his knee and out-of-bounds with 5.4 seconds left when the Hornets trailed by two points.

Gordon hit two free throws with 4.7 seconds left to seal the victory.

Paul and Marco Belinelli added 14 points apiece for the Hornets.

Gomes’ go-ahead hoop was his only points of the contest and was part of a 7-0 run that saw Los Angeles overturn a four-point deficit.

Al-Farouq Aminu added 16 points for the Clippers.
