Pau Gasol scored 21 points as the Los Angeles Lakers snapped out of their funk with a 108-83 home victory over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night.

The two-time defending champion Lakers (24-11) had lost four of their last six games, including a 104-85 home loss to Memphis in which they were booed.

Kobe Bryant overcame a terrible 0-for-9 start and finished with 17 points, eight assists and seven rebounds for Los Angeles, which held a 45-42 halftime lead and pulled away with a huge second half.

Lamar Odom, again coming off the bench, had 16 points and nine rebounds for the Lakers.

Rookie Greg Monroe had 14 points and 11 rebounds, Tracy McGrady scored 14 points and Tayshaun Prince added 12 for Detroit (11-24), which has lost three in a row and is 3-16 on the road.
