Manu Ginobili scored 26 points and the host San Antonio Spurs spoiled the New Jersey Nets’ debut of Deron Williams by delivering a 106-96 victory on Friday.

George Hill added 19 points for the Spurs, who won their 20th consecutive home contest to improve their NBA-best record to 48-10.

Williams had 14 points and 12 assists in his first contest with the Nets since being acquired from the Utah Jazz on Wednesday.

Anthony Morrow scored 25 points to lead the Nets (17-41), who lost their fourth straight game.

New Jersey led 54-53 at halftime before San Antonio took control with a 35-point third quarter.

Matt Bonner’s 3-pointer gave the Spurs a 12-point lead with 2:13 left in the quarter and Hill capped the big quarter with a last-second 3-pointer to make the score 88-72 entering the final quarter.

Tim Duncan and DeJuan Blair scored 17 points apiece and Tony Parker had 13 points and 10 assists for San Antonio.

Brook Lopez added 13 points and Kris Humphries scored 12 points for the Nets, who trailed by 11 points less than seven minutes into the contest before rallying to take a one-point halftime lead.
