Zach Randolph and Leon Powe scored 13 points apiece as the Memphis Grizzlies stunned the host Boston Celtics 90-87 on Wednesday.

Six players scored in double figures as Memphis (40-32) won its third straight game. Marc Gasol had 11 points and 11 rebounds, Sam Young and O.J. Mayo also scored 11 points and Darrell Arthur had 10.

Paul Pierce tallied 22 points for Boston (50-20) but missed a last-second, game-tying 3-point attempt as the Celtics fell a half-game behind Chicago in the race for top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Boston had two opportunities to tie the game in the final six seconds. Glen Davis missed a 3-pointer with 5.9 seconds left but the Celtics got another chance for the tie after Gasol missed two free throws with 4.2 seconds remaining.

Ray Allen added 14 points for the Celtics. Rajon Rondo had just six points but had 11 rebounds, 11 assists and seven steals.

Pierce’s 3-point pulled Boston within 86-85 with 3:02 to play. Neither team scored in the next two minutes until Gasol hit a layup to give Memphis a 3-point advantage. Davis hit an 18-footer with 52.6 seconds left to again trim the lead to one before Mike Conley hit two free throws with 13.2 seconds left.
