Ryan McMahon had two hits and two RBIs, Ty Blach opened the game with five strong innings, and the Colorado Rockies beat the Oakland Athletics 2-0 in Denver on Sunday.

Nolan Jones also had two hits and Justin Lawrence got the final three outs for his eighth save for Colorado, which snapped a four-game losing streak and salvaged the final game of the weekend series against Oakland.

Ramon Laureano had two hits for the A's.

The Rockies had traffic on the bases in the first two innings but didn't score until the third. With one out, starter Luis Medina hit Austin Wynns and moved him to second with a balk. It was costly when McMahon singled to center to give Colorado a 1-0 lead.

Blach (1-0) served as the opener for the Rockies and was able to hold Oakland scoreless for his five innings, which was a change from the first two games of the series when the A's had at least five runs after three innings both nights.

Blach scattered three hits and tossed 52 pitches -- and just 11 balls -- before leaving with a 1-0 lead. He finished his day by inducing Nick Allen to hit into an inning-ending double play to third base.

The Rockies added to the lead in the fifth inning when Ezequiel Tovar reached on a two-out double and came home on McMahon's double to left-center field.

Medina (3-8) left after giving up a one-out single to Jones in the sixth inning. He allowed two runs on six hits and struck out six in 5 1/3 innings.

Oakland threatened in the seventh inning against reliever Brent Suter. Laureano singled with one out, and after Shea Langeliers struck out, Tyler Soderstrom singled and Aledmys Diaz walked to load the bases.

Suter got out of the jam when he froze Allen with a changeup to strike him out looking.

Tony Kemp led off the top of the eighth with a walk but ended the inning when he was thrown out attempting to steal second.
