Two-run homers by Starling Marte and Eduardo Escobar provided the bookends to another offensive outburst Tuesday night by the New York Mets, who rolled to a 10-0 win over the visiting Washington Nationals.

The Mets, who routed the Nationals 13-5 on Monday in the series opener, earned their fifth straight win and locked up another series victory. New York is 13-2-1 in 16 series this season.

The Nationals finished 11-17 in May.

Mark Canha led off the first inning with a single against Patrick Corbin (1-8) before Marte homered to center field. It was the second homer in as many games for Marte, who finished with 13 extra-base hits in May, including four homers, after collecting four extra-base hits, including two homers, in April.

Luis Guillorme had a two-run single in the third and Canha (double) and Francisco Lindor (single) each had two-RBI hits in the fifth before Escobar hit a two-run homer in the sixth.

Lindor extended his streak of games with an RBI to nine, the longest by a Mets player since Edgardo Alfonzo had an RBI in nine straight games July 12-20, 2002.

Canha, who batted leadoff for the second time this season, tied his career high with four hits. He also had four hits against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Aug. 18, 2015.

Jeff McNeil, who was the only Mets player without a hit on Monday, had three hits Tuesday. Guillorme, Escobar and J.D. Davis had two hits apiece.

New York starter Trevor Williams (1-3) allowed three hits and walked two while striking out one over a season-high five innings. Drew Smith, Joely Rodriguez and Adonis Medina combined to allow three hits over the final four innings.

Corbin gave up seven runs on 12 hits -- including 11 singles -- and walked two while striking out six over 4 1/3 innings. He tied teammate Joan Adon for the major league lead in losses.

Dee Strange-Gordon had three hits while Maikel Franco added two hits for the Nationals.
