Codi Heuer (5-2) earned the victory in relief of starter Zach Davies. Adam Morgan recorded his first save since 2018 by retiring the Rockies in order to close out the seven-inning game.

Cron is batting .414 (29-for-70) with eight homers and 29 RBIs in 20 games this month.

Chicago tied the game on Bote's one-out solo homer off Austin Gomber (9-8) in the second before Colorado answered with a run in the third.

Dom Nunez hit a leadoff single, moved to second on Connor Joe's groundout, and scored on Brendan Rodgers' single to center.

The Cubs pulled even again with two outs in the fourth on Romine's first home run of the season, a 368-foot blast to left field.

Wisdom put the Cubs ahead for good with his three-run homer off Gomber, who allowed five runs on seven hits and one walk over 4 2/3innings. He struck out eight.

Gomber recorded two quick outs to begin the inning before allowing Frank Schwindel's triple to left field. Matt Duffy then walked ahead of Wisdom's 438-foot blast.

Davies gave up two runs on three hits over 4 2/3 innings. He walked one and struck out six.
