Hyun-Jin Ryu threw seven shutout innings and the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers won the finale of a three-game series against the Cincinnati Reds 8-3 on Sunday afternoon.

Ryu (6-1) has not allowed a run in the past 31 innings. He gave up five hits against the Reds, struck out five and walked one, lowering his ERA to a major league leading 1.52.

Alex Verdugo had two hits and three RBIs, Cody Bellinger and Russell Martin homered, and Joc Pederson scored three runs for the Dodgers.

Reds starter Tanner Roark (3-3) went five innings, allowing two runs and two hits. He struck out seven and walked three.

Jose Peraza and Derek Dietrich hit back-to-back homers with two outs in the ninth to account for all the scoring for the Reds, who were trying tin win their second consecutive game in the series after the Dodgers won the opener Friday.

Ryu, who brought a no-hitter into the eighth inning of his last start, gave up a single on his first pitch to Nick Senzel, who had two hits.

The Dodgers drew one-out walks in the second and third innings, and each time the runner scored to stake Ryu to a 2-0 lead.

Corey Seager scored from first on a double by Verdugo for a 1-0 lead.

The Dodgers had runners on the corners with one out in the third when Justin Turner hit a hard one-hopper at Peraza at second. Instead of a potential inning-ending double play, the ball short-hopped off Peraza's body and into shallow center, scoring Pederson from third to make it 2-0.

Ryu hit a foul fly down the right-field line with the bases loaded and two outs in the sixth inning. Cincinnati right fielder Yasiel Puig ran into the wall while reaching into the stands to make the catch. Puig showed discomfort in his left arm afterward and left in the eighth inning.

Bellinger hit his 17th home run of the season to straightaway center in the seventh with Pederson aboard to stretch the lead to 4-0, and Martin hit a solo homer in the eighth to make it 5-0.

The Dodgers tacked on three more runs in the ninth, highlighted by Verdugo's two-run double.
