Neil Walker smacked a tiebreaking two-run double off the center-field fence in the eighth inning as host Pittsburgh defeated Toronto for the second straight night.

Ike Davis and Josh Harrison reached on singles in the eighth against Todd Redmond (0-3) before Walker narrowly missed a homer as both runners scored. Walker, Harrison and Clint Barmes each had two hits and Pittsburgh racked up 12 overall and has 29 in the series.

Bryan Morris (3-0) pitched a scoreless eighth and Mark Melancon worked out of a jam in the ninth for his first save. Brett Lawrie’s infield single put runners on first and third with two out before Melancon retired Colby Rasmus on a grounder to first.

The Blue Jays possessed a 6-2 lead after Jose Bautista smacked a solo homer in the sixth before Pittsburgh scored four times in the seventh. Harrison doubled in a run and Pedro Alvarez knocked in one with a grounder before pinch hitter Jordy Mercer smacked a tying two-run double to center.

Jose Reyes got Toronto on the board with a two-out double in the third while Lawrie had a run-scoring double and Rasmus delivered a run-scoring single during a four-run fourth that made it 5-0. The Pirates got two back in the bottom of the fourth on a wild pitch and Barmes’ infield out.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Blue Jays starter R.A. Dickey gave up three runs and five hits in six-plus innings, while Pittsburgh’s Francisco Liriano allowed five runs (four earned) and six hits in 3 2/3 innings. … Toronto placed RHP Brandon Morrow (finger) on the 60-day disabled list and recalled RHP Chad Jenkins. … Mercer was hitless in 25 at-bats over eight games before delivering the tying double.
