Paul Goldschmidt and Harrison Bader homered, Dakota Hudson pitched six innings of two-hit ball, and the host St. Louis Cardinals beat the Colorado Rockies 6-0 on Saturday night.

Marcell Ozuna finished with two hits for St. Louis, which has won three straight and six of its last seven. The first-place Cardinals moved 1 1/2 games ahead of the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central. The Cubs lost to the Washington Nationals on Saturday night.

Hudson (13-6) allowed only a leadoff double to Daniel Murphy in the second and a one-out single to Trevor Story in the sixth.

Chi Chi Gonzalez (0-5) walked six in 4 1/3 innings for the Rockies, allowing five runs on three hits. Colorado has lost five of its last six, including the first three games of this series.

The Cardinals wasted no time in getting to Gonzalez. Dexter Fowler led off the first inning with a walk and moved to second on Kolten Wong's single. Both players moved up a base on Goldschmidt's flyout and then scored on a single by Ozuna.

St. Louis added two more in the second, when Tommy Edman led off with a walk and Bader followed with his seventh home run of the season to make it 4-0.

Gonzalez, who had a strong outing at Arizona last week, settled down and retired nine of the next 10 batters, allowing just one walk in that stretch. His control issues appeared again in the fifth, when the Cardinals added another run.

Gonzalez walked Fowler for the second time leading off the inning, and one out later he uncorked a wild pitch, then walked Goldschmidt and Ozuna to load the bases. DJ Johnson relieved Gonzalez and allowed a Paul DeJong sacrifice fly to make it 5-0.

The Rockies got runners on first and third in the seventh, but Yonathan Daza struck out to end the threat. St. Louis tacked on another run against Yency Almonte in the bottom of the inning on Goldschmidt's 29th homer of the season.
