The Washington Nationals continued their recent offensive onslaught, smacking four homers Monday in a 13-0 shellacking of the host Pittsburgh Pirates.

Trea Turner hit a three-run homer, Matt Adams and Asdrubal Cabrera each hit two-run dingers, and Adam Eaton hit a solo shot among the Nationals' 15 hits. Washington racked up 11 runs in the first four innings.

The Nationals' big offensive performance, in the opener of a four-game series, came after Washington hit eight homers Sunday in a 16-8 win over the Milwaukee Brewers.

The Nationals have won seven of their past eight games and have scored 62 runs in their past five games.

Washington starter Joe Ross pitched 3 1/3 scoreless, three-hit innings before he left after getting hit in the right leg by a Josh Bell comebacker.

Javy Guerra (2-1) took over and was perfect for 3 2/3 innings. Kyle McGowin pitched a scoreless eighth, and Tanner Rainey tossed a scoreless ninth to finish off the four-hit shutout.

Pittsburgh right-hander Trevor Williams (5-6) had the shortest start of his career. He allowed eight runs, six of them earned, and six hits in two innings, with three walks and a strikeout.

Washington got things going quickly. Eaton hit a one-out solo homer in the first, his 11th. Anthony Rendon followed with a double and went to third on a wild pitch, and Juan Soto walked. Cabrera's sacrifice fly made it 2-0 ahead of Adams' two-run shot, his 20th homer, making it 4-0 before Pittsburgh batted.

In the second, Yan Gomes walked. Ross hit into a fielder's choice, but catcher Elias Diaz's throwing error left runners at first and third. Turner launched his 13th homer, to left-center, to push it to 7-0.

Two outs later, Soto singled up the middle and Cabrera walked. Adams followed with an RBI double for an 8-0 Nationals lead.

Against Montana DuRapau in the fourth, Eaton walked, and an out later, went to third on Soto's double. Cabrera followed with a two-run double that was just shy of a homer. Adams doubled home Cabrera for an 11-0 edge.

Cabrera added a two-run homer, his 13th, in the ninth.
