Mike Minor threw eight shutout innings while striking out 11 to lift the visiting Texas Rangers to a 1-0 win against Milwaukee Brewers in the finale of the three-game series on Sunday afternoon.

Minor (11-6) allowed four hits with one walk. He was coming off seven shutout innings in a 1-0 victory against the Cleveland Indians on Monday, extending his shutout streak to 16 innings overall.

Rangers closer Jose Leclerc retired the Brewers' 3-4-5 hitters in order in the ninth for his eighth save.

Elvis Andrus had two of the four hits for Texas, which ended a four-game losing streak.

Jordan Lyles (7-8) matched Minor for six innings before allowing a run in the seventh. He gave up three hits in his seven innings work while striking out nine, with four walks.

Ryan Braun had two of the four hits for Milwaukee, which saw its five-game winning streak come to an end.

Minor retired 11 in a row following a walk to Lorenzo Cain to lead off the game. After giving up a two-out single to Braun in the fourth, Minor resumed a string of quick outs and set down the next eight in a row before Braun singled with one out in the seventh.

Lyles didn't have a 1-2-3 inning until the fourth, then got on a roll to retire 11 in a row before a walk to Willie Calhoun to start the seventh.

Rougned Odor then hit a line drive down the first-base line. Yasmani Grandal, who was starting at first base for the ninth time this season after 90 starts at catcher, had the ball go off his glove and roll down the line, putting runners on second and third with no outs.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa lifted a one-out sacrifice fly to right field to score the lone run of the game.

Brewers right fielder Christian Yelich missed the past four games with a sore back but pinch-hit in the eighth after Hernan Perez led off with a double. Yelich, who entered Sunday tied with Mike Trout of the Los Angeles Angels for the major-league lead in home runs with 39, struck out swinging.
