Ray (5-3) held the Blue Jays to two runs, five hits and one walk in 6 2/3 innings as the Diamondbacks completed a three-game sweep to open a 10-game road trip.

Lourdes Gurriel Jr. homered and doubled for the Blue Jays, who have lost four in a row and completed a 2-4 homestand.

Toronto starter Clayton Richard (0-2) allowed seven runs, seven hits and two walks in 2 2/3 innings in his fourth start of the season.

It was the fifth series sweep by the Diamondbacks this season. The Blue Jays have been swept in seven series.

Toronto led 2-0 as Gurriel hit his fifth homer of the season in the first and Freddy Galvis singled and scored on Danny Jansen's double in the second.

The Diamondbacks sent 11 batters to the plate in the third.

Marte hit his 15th homer of the season with one out in the third and Eduardo Escobar singled with two out. David Peralta and Christian Walker walked to load the bases. Kevin Cron hit a two-run single. Jarrod Dyson batted for Nick Ahmed (sore left foot) and reached base on an infield single. Tim Locastro then hit a three-run triple. Thomas Pannone replaced Richard and Kelly hit his first pitch for a two-run blast, his seventh homer of the season.

Archie Bradley replaced Ray following Jansen's two-out single in the seventh and ended the inning on a groundout. Bradley pitched around Gurriel's double in the bottom of the eighth.

Elvis Luciano pitched around two walks in two innings for the Blue Jays.

Toronto's Joe Biagini pitched a perfect top of the ninth with two strikeouts.
