Nick Pivetta pitched his first career complete game, J.T. Realmuto homered and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the visiting Cincinnati Reds 4-1 on Saturday for their fourth straight win.

Coming off six scoreless innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers in his previous outing, Pivetta allowed a run on six hits and no walks while striking out six. He had never gone beyond 7 1/3 innings.

Pivetta (4-1) allowed hits to the first two Reds batters and then didn't allow another baserunner until Joey Votto's leadoff single in the seventh inning.

While Jay Bruce didn't hit his fifth home run in his fifth game with the Phillies, he did contribute a two-run single in the first inning against his former team.

Votto and Nick Senzel had two hits each for the Reds, who have lost three straight and five of their last six.

Cincinnati starter Tanner Roark (4-5) gave up four runs on six hits over five innings.

The Reds took a 1-0 lead in the first. Senzel doubled and went to third on Votto's single. Pivetta avoided a big inning by getting Eugenio Suarez to ground into a double play, scoring Senzel.

In the bottom of the first, the Phillies loaded the bases on a walk to Bryce Harper, a fielder's choice, a double by Rhys Hoskins and a Realmuto walk. Bruce then lined a single to right, scoring Jean Segura and Hoskins.

Realmuto made it 3-1 when he opened the fourth inning with a shot that just cleared the wall in right for his 10th homer of the season.

The Phillies increased the lead to 4-1 in the fifth when Harper reached on an infield single with two outs against his former teammate Roark and scored on a triple by Segura, who had two hits.
