Hunter Pence homered, and Ronald Guzman and Danny Santana each drove in a run as the Texas Rangers defeated the visiting Baltimore Orioles 4-3 in the finale of the three-game series Thursday night.

The Rangers took two of three from the Orioles, who have not won a series since late April.

Baltimore started the game with one healthy player on the bench due to three injuries Wednesday and found more health issues in the series finale. Left fielder Dwight Smith Jr. came out in the fifth inning after earlier running face-first into the outfield wall to make a catch.

Ariel Jurado (3-2) gave the Rangers six strong innings. He allowed three runs on eight hits and struck out six with one walk.

Shawn Kelley closed it in the ninth and earned his seventh save, escaping a two-out jam.

Baltimore starter David Hess (1-8) pitched better this time but was hurt by an error that let in one run and set up another in a two-run fifth. He lasted six innings plus one batter and gave up four runs (three earned) on eight hits.

The Orioles took a 1-0 lead in the first when Trey Mancini homered to right-center despite battling a sore foot.

Texas answered with two runs in the second off Hess. Pence hit a solo homer with one out, and Guzman later added a two-out RBI double for a 2-1 lead.

The game was delayed for 13 minutes by a passing shower in the fourth. In the top of the fifth, Chance Sisco doubled, went to third on a sacrifice bunt and scored on Stevie Wilkerson's single to tie the game 2-2.

Texas then took a 4-2 lead with two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Baltimore helped the Rangers thanks to an error from Chris Davis, who started in right field for the first time in three years.

With the game still tied and Isiah Kiner-Falefa on first, Delino DeShields singled to right with Kiner-Falefa was running on the play. Davis let the ball get past him, and Kiner-Falefa scored. DeShields did not get an RBI but wound up on third, and he came in on a Santana sacrifice fly.

Davis sliced an RBI double to left in the sixth that made it 4-3, but the Orioles could do no more after that.
