Scott Kingery and J.T. Realmuto each had three hits and five RBIs as the host Philadelphia Phillies built a 10-run lead in the first inning and cruised to a 14-3 win over the New York Mets on Tuesday.

Kingery hit a three-run home run and set a career high for RBIs. He entered the night with no RBIs through 17 at-bats this year. Realmuto added a solo homer, and Maikel Franco also had a three-run homer.

Phillies starter Nick Pivetta (2-1) tossed five innings and gave up seven hits and three runs. Jerad Eickhoff picked up a rare four-inning save, allowing no runs on three hits.

Wilson Ramos and Michael Conforto each had a solo homer for the Mets. J.D. Davis, Jeff McNeil and Robinson Cano added a pair of hits apiece.

Mets starter Steven Matz (1-1) faced the first eight batters without recording an out and was lifted for Drew Gagnon. Matz became just the sixth starting pitcher since the mound was moved to its current distance in 1893 to allow eight runs without recording an out, according to Elias.

The Phillies scored 10 runs on six hits in the bottom of the first inning highlighted by three-run home runs from Kingery and Franco.

In that inning, the Mets committed four errors. The last time the Mets made four errors in one inning came on April 27, 2012, at Colorado.

One downside for the Phillies was that shortstop Jean Segura left the game due to left hamstring tightness. Philadelphia began the game without first baseman Rhys Hoskins, who has a sprained left ankle.

Ramos ripped a solo homer in the second to put the Mets on the scoreboard, though they still trailed by nine runs. However, New York center fielder Brandon Nimmo left the game in the first with what was described by the team as a stiff neck.

Conforto hit a solo shot in the third to close the Mets within 10-2.

Realmuto responded for the Phillies in the fourth with a mammoth solo homer to center for an 11-2 advantage.

Kingery added a two-run double in the sixth to push the Phillies' lead back to double digits.
