Jack Flaherty allowed one run and three hits in six innings and the St. Louis Cardinals extended their winning streak to four with a 7-2 win against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday.

Flaherty (1-0) struck out eight and did not walk a batter.

Yadier Molina and Marcell Ozuna hit two-run homers. Ozuna also singled and doubled, and Paul DeJong also had three hits, three runs scored and an RBI for St. Louis in the third game of the four-game series.

Kenta Maeda (2-1) allowed five runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings for the Dodgers, who have lost three in a row following a five-game winning streak. Joc Pederson and Max Muncy hit solo home runs for Los Angeles.

Flaherty, who grew up in the Los Angeles area, recorded 33 straight outs without allowing a run over his past three appearances before Pederson homered with one out in the sixth to cut the deficit to 2-1.

The Cardinals came back with three runs in their half of the sixth.

Paul Goldschmidt led off with a single just off the glove of a diving Chris Taylor in center. DeJong then hit a ball down the left-field line that a diving Pederson barely missed. The ball continued into the corner, allowing Goldschmidt to score from first and DeJong to end up at third.

After Maeda struck out Ozuna, Molina lifted his home run barely over the fence in left-center field for a 5-1 lead.

After Muncy homered off reliever Tyler Webb in the seventh, Ozuna hit the left-field foul pole with two outs in the eighth to make it 7-2.

The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the second after Ozuna doubled over the head of Pederson, stole third and came home on a weak groundout to third by Molina.

DeJong reached on an infield single to shallow shortstop to start the fourth. Ozuna singled to right, sending DeJong to third, but Ozuna was thrown out by right fielder Alex Verdugo after taking a wide turn at first. After Molina flew out to shallow right, Dexter Fowler dropped a two-out single into right-center field to make it 2-0.
