Ketel Marte hit a two-out RBI single in the 13th inning Friday to give the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks their second win in a row, and third in four games, 2-1 over the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Jon Jay drew a walk from Tyler Glasnow (1-2) to lead off the 13th. After Paul Goldschmidt flied out and Jake Lamb struck out, David Peralta walked. Marte drove a full-count pitch up the middle to bring Jay home and break a 1-1 tie.

The Pirates have lost three straight.

A scoreless pitchers' duel between Arizona left-hander Patrick Corbin and Pittsburgh right-hander Ivan Nova stretched into the eighth, as each starter gave up only three hits.

Corbin struck out 12 and walked none in seven innings. He struck out the side in the third en route to fanning five in a row. He has 31 strikeouts over his past 24 2/3 innings. Corbin had given up at least five runs in three of his previous four starts, including five against the Pirates at home on June 11.

Andrew Chafin (1-2) gave up a hit and a walk in the 12th for Arizona, and T.J. McFarland pitched the 13th for his first save.

Nova struck out eight and walked none in eight innings. He struck out the side in the sixth and needed just four pitches to set down the Diamondbacks in the eighth.

Each team scored an unearned run in the 11th.

Lamb, who had singled, scored on Pirates catcher Elias Diaz's two-out throwing error on Ketel Marte's chopper for a 1-0 Arizona lead.

Pittsburgh tied it when Gregory Polanco, who had walked, was safe at home on Lamb's throwing error from third on Starling Marte's broken-bat grounder.

Rookie Austin Meadows had two of the Pirates' four hits, singles in the first and sixth. Jordy Mercer also singled in the fifth.

Each of the first eight batters in the Arizona order had exactly one of the team's eight hits.
