Albert Almora Jr. hit a walk-off RBI single to right field in the 10th inning as the Chicago Cubs earned a doubleheader split against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers with a 2-1 victory Tuesday night.

Kris Bryant tripled into the right field corner to open the bottom of the 10th against Dodgers reliever Brock Stewart (0-1). Javy Baez was intentionally walked before Almora delivered his game-winning hit.

Rob Zastryzny (1-0) picked up the victory after recording one out in the 10th when he retired Yasmani Grandal on a fly ball to right field with the bases loaded. The Dodgers were 2-for-15 with runners in scoring position.

The Dodgers rallied to win the first game of the doubleheader 4-3 on Kyle Farmer's two-run pinch-hit double in the ninth inning. The long day was scheduled after rain and malfunctioning stadium lights postponed Monday night's game.

The Cubs' Kyle Schwarber tied the nightcap in the seventh inning with a solo home run to right field, his 13th. It was just the second extra-base hit for Schwarber in his last 12 games. Both were home runs.

The blast came off reliever Erik Goeddel, who gave up his first run in a Dodgers uniform. The right-hander, who was selected off waivers from the Seattle Mariners on May 18, held opponents scoreless over 13 games and 14 1/3 innings after joining the Dodgers.

The Dodgers' bullpen had gone a week and 21 1/3 innings without giving up a run before Schwarber went deep.

Dodgers starter Rich Hill gave up three hits over six innings in his return from the disabled list because of a blister on the middle finger of his left hand. Hill last took the mound on May 19, throwing two pitches against the Washington Nationals before leaving the game.

It was Hill's first scoreless outing since his 2018 debut when he held the San Francisco Giants in check. That 2018 debut was also the last time he pitched six innings.

Austin Barnes put the Dodgers ahead in the sixth inning with an RBI single to score Cody Bellinger, who walked and stole second base. Barnes was just 2-for-13 entering play Tuesday, but walked and scored the tying run in the doubleheader opener before adding his RBI in Game 2.

Cubs starter Mike Montgomery gave up one run on five hits over six innings with four walks and five strikeouts. It was just the fifth start in 23 appearances for the left-hander.
