Nolan Gorman drove in three runs to lift the St. Louis Cardinals to a 3-1 victory over the visiting Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday afternoon in the conclusion of a suspended game.

Gorman hit an RBI double in the second inning and a two-run homer in the sixth for the Cardinals, who posted their seventh win in nine games.

Rain stopped the game in the middle of the sixth inning on Tuesday. When the game resumed Wednesday, Ivan Herrera drew a two-out walk in the bottom of the inning and Gorman followed with his homer.

Lance Lynn (2-2) allowed one unearned run on two hits and struck out five in six innings to pick up the win.

Reliever Ryan Helsley struck out a batter and did not allow a hit in a scoreless ninth inning to record his 15th save.

Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Bradish allowed one run on four hits in five innings. He struck out six batters and walked one.

Reliever Jacob Wells (0-3) took the loss after yielding one run in two-thirds of an inning.

Home plate umpire Mike Estabrook ejected Cardinals outfielder Lars Nootbaar in the first inning for complaining after his strikeout.

St. Louis took a 1-0 lead in the second inning after Alec Burleson hit a single and scored on Gorman's double to the center-field wall.

Lynn worked around Kyle Stowers' leadoff double in the third inning. Jorge Mateo struck out, Gunnar Henderson grounded out and Adley Rutschman flew out.

The Cardinals threatened in the bottom of the inning when Bradish hit Brendan Donovan with a pitch and Paul Goldschmidt hit a two-out double. But Bradish retired Nolan Arenado on a groundout.

Gorman drew a two-out walk in the fourth inning and went to third as Masyn Winn extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a double. Bradish left the runners there, though, by retiring Michael Siani on a groundout.

The Orioles tied the game 1-1 with an unearned run in the fifth inning. Stowers reached on an error and scored on Mateo's double.
