Austin Slater's two-run home run to center field in the top of the eighth inning was the difference in the San Francisco Giants' 6-5 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday night in Phoenix.

Slater's first extra-base hit since May 30 traveled 463 feet.

Brandon Crawford and Donovan Solano each went 3-for-4 for the Giants.

Slater's home run occurred with two outs in the eighth against Ryan Buchter (0-2) after Buchter walked Mike Yastrzemski.

Dominic Leone (2-0) earned the win in relief. He pitched an inning, striking out two in the seventh. Jake McGee notched his 16th save by retiring the side in the ninth with one strikeout.

The Giants scored four runs in the top of the third inning against Arizona starter Jake Faria to open the scoring.

Yastrzemski's two-run home run, his second homer in the last three days, with one out was followed by a single by Alex Dickerson. The triple by Crawford plated Dickerson and Solano singled to score Crawford.

Faria started the Diamondbacks' two-run rally in the bottom of the third with a double against San Francisco starter Sammy Long, a rookie making his third start. Nick Ahmed walked and Cabrera delivered a one-out single to center to score Faria. Christian Walker then singled, scoring Ahmed to cut the lead to 4-2.

Ahmed tied the game in the fourth with a two-out two-run home run that scored Andrew Young, who had doubled.

Arizona again rallied in the fifth, taking a 5-4 lead on David Peralta's single off reliever Jose Alvarez that scored Cabrera.

San Francisco, 8-1 against Arizona this season, shoots for the four-game series win and its third straight victory Sunday. The Diamondbacks have dropped consecutive games and have lost six of their last seven.
