Jorge Polanco hit a three-run triple with two outs in the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie and carry the Minnesota Twins to a four-game series sweep of the Texas Rangers with a 6-3 victory on Sunday afternoon in Arlington, Texas.

Polanco's game-winning hit came off reliever Emmanuel Clase (0-2), after Ehire Adrianza started the inning with a single and went to third on a double by Jason Castro. Miguel Sano walked two outs later to load the bases, and Polanco followed with his game-winning hit, a line drive into the gap in right-center.

Marwin Gonzalez had a two-run double, Sano doubled, walked twice and scored two runs, and Adrianza had two hits for Minnesota, which won its fourth straight and improved to 40-22 on the road this season. The Twins return to Minneapolis for a six-game homestand with a 2 1/2-game lead in the American League Central over the Cleveland Indians.

Sam Dyson (5-1) picked up the win, allowing one run on three hits over an inning of relief. Taylor Rogers struck out Rougned Odor with runners on first and second for the final out for his 19th save.

Shin-Soo Choo went 2-for-5 with a home run, Hunter Pence had three hits and a walk, and Jeff Mathis drove in two runs for Texas, which lost its fourth straight game.

Minnesota took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Gonzalez lined a two-run double over the head of left fielder Willie Calhoun, driving in Max Kepler, who had walked, and Polanco, who had singled. It was the 11th hit and third double in the span of 15 at-bats in the series for Gonzalez.

The Twins extended their lead to 3-0 in the fourth when Sano lined a double off the fence in left-center, went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a sacrifice fly by Eddie Rosario.

Texas cut it to 3-2 in the bottom half of the inning when Pence led off with an infield single and advanced to second on a single by Delino DeShields. After both runners moved up on a wild pitch, Mathis followed with a two-run single to right.

Choo then led off the seventh inning with his 20th homer of the season off Dyson to tie it, 3-3, setting the stage for Polanco's game-winning triple.

Kepler left in the game in the seventh inning due to "heat illness." Temperatures hovered around 100 degrees with a heat index of 117 on the field.
