JaCoby Jones homered twice and drove in five runs and Christin Stewart also homered to lead the Detroit Tigers to a 9-3 victory over the visiting Minnesota Twins on Saturday afternoon.

Jones finished 3-for-4 and also scored two runs while Miguel Cabrera, Gordon Beckham, Brandon Dixon and Harold Castro each added two hits for Detroit, which snapped a three-game losing streak and won for just the second time in its last 15 home games.

Nick Ramirez (2-0), the second of five Detroit pitchers, picked up the victory, allowing one run on three hits and three walks over three innings. He struck out three.

Nelson Cruz homered and had two hits, Max Kepler scored two runs and Jorge Polanco had an RBI double for Minnesota. Kyle Gibson (6-3) suffered the loss, allowing five runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out eight.

Minnesota took a 1-0 lead in the first inning off opener Buck Farmer. Kepler led off with a walk and then scored on Polanco's double down the left field line.

Gibson, who gave up just one earned run over 12 innings in his two previous starts, then gave up three in the second inning, all coming with two out. Beckham singled and went to second on a walk to Grayson Greiner. Jones then followed with his seventh homer of the year, a 418-foot line drive into the left field bleachers.

The Twins cut the lead to 3-2 in the third against Ramirez on a run-scoring single by C.J. Cron, driving in Kepler who opened the inning with a walk. Stewart led off the bottom half of the inning with his fifth homer of the season, a 419-foot drive to right-center, to increase Detroit's lead to 4-2.

The Tigers parlayed three singles into another run in the fifth with Castro driving in Nicholas Castellanos to extend their lead to 5-2.

Cruz made it 5-3 in the eighth when he hit reliever Blaine Hardy's first pitch 445 feet into the bleachers in left-center for his 10th home run of the season and third in his past three games.

The Tigers then broke the game open with four runs in the eighth off reliever Matt Magill, featuring a two-run homer by Jones off the left field foul pole, an RBI triple by Dawel Lugo and an RBI single by Dixon.
