Elias Diaz hit a solo home run, and Colin Moran also went deep with three RBIs on Friday as the Pittsburgh Pirates topped the host Cincinnati Reds 8-4.

The Pirates (81-78) ensured they will finish over .500. They will play no more than 161 games.

Tucker Barnhart and Eugenio Suarez each hit two-run homers, and Barnhart had his first career five-hit game for Cincinnati (66-94).

Pirates starter Nick Kingham allowed two runs and six hits in 3 2/3 innings, with three strikeouts and three walks.

Steven Brault (6-3) pitched 2 1/3 scoreless innings in relief to earn the victory.

Reds starter Anthony DeSclafani (7-8) struck out six in five innings but gave up three runs and three hits.

Adam Frazier opened the game with a double. Starling Marte walked. An out later, Corey Dickerson doubled to left-center to drive in Frazier. Diaz's sacrifice fly gave Pittsburgh a 2-0 lead.

Cincinnati tied it in the third on Suarez's 33rd homer, to right, after Joey Votto doubled.

With one out in the fourth, Diaz's 10th homer made it to the second deck in left to give the Pirates a 3-2 lead.

In the sixth, Marte led off with a single off the glove of shortstop Jose Peraza, and Josh Bell and Dickerson got infield hits to load the bases. That chased reliever Wandy Peralta. Against Matt Wisler, Diaz struck out before Moran drove in Marte with a sacrifice fly. Kevin Kramer followed with a single to right to bring Bell home for a 5-2 lead.

In the seventh, Pittsburgh's Jung Ho Kang led off with a pinch-hit single. It was his first appearance since Oct. 2, 2016, because of a DUI charge in his native South Korea and visa issues. He worked his way back through the minor leagues this year amid injury setbacks.

In the eighth, Moran homered to right-center, and Kevin Newman added an RBI single to make it 7-2.

Moran added an RBI single in the ninth for an 8-2 lead, and Barnhart hit his 10th homer in the bottom of the ninth.
