Enyel De Los Santos won his major league debut by tossing 6 1/3 solid innings Tuesday night, and Maikel Franco hit a three-run homer in the second inning to give the visiting Philadelphia Phillies a lead they'd never relinquish in a 7-3 victory over the New York Mets.

The Phillies have won the middle two games of the four-game series and eight of their last 10. The Mets have lost four of five and 15 of 20.

De Los Santos, who went 9-3 with a 1.89 ERA in 16 starts for Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to his promotion, won a duel of pitchers making their debuts. He allowed three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out six.

The Phillies gave De Los Santos plenty of breathing room against Mets right-hander Drew Gagnon, who was also recalled from the minors prior to the game. Nick Williams delivered a two-run single in the third and Odubel Herrera homered in the fifth off Gagnon.

Franco added an RBI single in the sixth off Tyler Bashlor.

Williams and Rhys Hoskins each had three hits for the Phillies.

Amed Rosario had three hits, including two triples, for New York. He scored the Mets' first run on Gagnon's sacrifice fly in the third inning and drove in their second run in the seventh inning with his second triple, on which Jose Reyes scored from second. Rosario then scored on a groundout by pinch hitter Michael Conforto.

Rosario's two-triple game was the first for the Mets since Reyes had one last July 22.

Gagnon (0-1), who went 2-4 with a 4.40 ERA in 18 starts between Triple-A Las Vegas and Double-A Binghamton, allowed six runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out three over 4 2/3 innings. He became the third Mets pitcher to collect an RBI in his major league debut.
