David Peralta tied a franchise record with five hits, and five Diamondbacks -- Paul Goldschmidt, Steven Souza Jr., Nick Ahmed, Alex Avila and Ketel Marte -- homered Saturday night as Arizona set a franchise record for runs scored in a 20-5 rout of the San Diego Padres at Phoenix.

Wil Myers tied a San Diego franchise record with three home runs.

The Diamondbacks finished with 18 hits and scored in all but one inning (the fifth) while breaking the franchise record of 18 runs in a game set against the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 17, 2014.

Peralta, Goldschmidt, Avila and Ahmed all had three RBIs, while Souza and Daniel Descalso had two apiece. Jon Jay, Jake Lamb, Peralta and Descalso all scored three runs.

Myers gave the Padres a quick 2-0 lead with a two-run homer in the top of the first.

However, the Diamondbacks scored five runs in the bottom of the first against Padres starter Tyson Ross, who had a no-hitter going for 7 2/3 innings in his previous start at Chase Field on April 20. On Saturday, Ross gave up eight runs on seven hits and two walks with two strikeouts in two innings.

Arizona then scored seven runs (five earned) against reliever Kazuhisa Makita, who gave up five hits, including two home runs, and two walks, in two innings.

Although he entered the fifth inning with a 15-4 lead, Arizona starter Robbie Ray couldn't get the final three outs needed for the win. He allowed four runs on four hits and four walks with seven strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings. Ray served up two of Myers' homers and one to Jose Pirela.

Right-hander Randall Delgado (1-0) allowed just a hit over 1 2/3 scoreless innings in his return from the disabled list to get his first win of the season.

Peralta grounded out to second in the eighth, failing in a bid for a sixth straight hit in the game. Avila and Descalso each had three hits for the Diamondbacks.

Arizona also drew seven walks in the game and had a hit batter.
