SAN DIEGO -- Yangervis Solarte's ninth-inning home run lifted the San Diego Padres past the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-5 in the first game of a split doubleheader on Saturday.

Solarte drove Pedro Baez's 96 mph fastball into the right-field seats for his first career walk-off homer. Baez (3-3) took the loss after the Dodgers had rallied in the top of the inning.

Los Angeles tied the game in the ninth on pinch hitter Justin Turner's two-run homer off closer Brad Hand. Although he was ambushed by Turner, Hand (3-4) got the win.

The Dodgers' Cody Bellinger smashed his 35th homer -- a fourth-inning, 412-foot solo blast that tied him with Mike Piazza for the franchise's rookie home run mark set in 1993.

While Bellinger's name is quickly becoming recognizable, much of the Dodgers' lineup was filled with backups. At least four non-starters were littered throughout the order as Los Angeles was unable to hold three different leads.

Wil Myers' triple in the seventh chased in Jose Pirela to push the Padres ahead and Corey Spangenberg followed with a run-scoring hit for a 5-3 lead.

San Diego drew even at 3-3 with a two-run sixth inning. Jabari Blash had an RBI single and pinch hitter Hector Sanchez tied the game with a groundout.

Pinch hitter Chris Taylor got the offense in gear in the fifth with an inning-opening double. A wild pitch by Padres starter Clayton Richard got Taylor to third before he scored on Austin Barnes' single for a 3-1 Dodgers cushion.

Bellinger's homer in the fourth, his first since Aug. 12, pushed the Dodgers in front 2-1.

Pirela tied the game at 1 with a sacrifice fly in the third. Manuel Margot, after starting the inning with a single, scored on Pirela's fly ball.

Logan Forsythe got the start at second and opened the first with single, which preceded one by Barnes. After a third straight hit, by Enrique Hernandez, Bellinger grounded to first base for an RBI.

NOTES: Dodgers SS Corey Seager (elbow) missed his fifth straight start but popped up as a pinch hitter. ... RHP Wilmer Font, the Pacific Coast League pitcher of the year, was brought up from Triple-A Oklahoma City and will be used in the bullpen. ... RHP Jordan Jankowski was designated for assignment. ... For the Padres, it was their second doubleheader in Petco Park since it opened in 2004. The other one was July 1, 2006, against the San Francisco Giants.
