Dodgers 3, Cardinals 2: Matt Kemp led off the eighth inning with a home run to snap a tie and help host Los Angeles even the National League Division Series at one win apiece.

Zach Greinke allowed just two hits and struck out seven over as many stellar innings but was removed after initially taking the mound to start the eighth. Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly's questionable decision proved costly as J.P. Howell entered and yielded a leadoff single by pinch-hitter Oscar Taveras before serving up a tying two-run homer to Matt Carpenter, who registered a solo shot and three-run double in Game 1.

After Howell allowed another hit, Brandon League (1-0) came in to record three outs and keep the game even. Kemp quickly put the Dodgers back on top as he launched a 2-1 offering from Pat Neshek (0-1) into the seats in left field.

Dee Gordon and Adrian Gonzalez each drove in a run for the NL West champion Dodgers, who watched ace Clayton Kershaw self-destruct in the seventh inning en route to a 10-9 defeat in Friday's series opener. Greinke and Kemp each recorded a pair of hits while Kenley Jansen struck out two in a perfect ninth to notch the save as the series shifts to St. Louis for Game 3 on Monday.

Los Angeles got to Lance Lynn in the third inning as A.J. Ellis led off with a double and moved to third on Greinke's single before scoring on Gordon's groundout. After Yasiel Puig struck out, Gonzalez doubled the lead with a single to center field that plated Greinke.

GAME NOTEBOOK: St. Louis was held hitless by Greinke until Kolten Wong doubled with one out in the fifth inning. ... Puig went 0-for-4 with four strikeouts after fanning for the final out in the series opener. ... Los Angeles LF Carl Crawford was 0-for-4, ending his club-record 11-game postseason hitting streak. ... Lynn worked six innings, allowing two runs and seven hits with two walks and eight strikeouts.
