Rangers 5, Mets 3: Robinson Chirinos went 2-for-4 with a homer and three RBIs as Texas halted its 10-game road losing streak.

Adrian Beltre also went deep and Alex Rios collected three hits and an RBI for the Rangers, who had lost six straight overall and 14 of 16. Colby Lewis (6-5) allowed three runs - two earned - and eight hits with seven strikeouts in six innings and Joakim Soria worked around a double in the ninth for his 16th save.

Travis d'Arnaud homered and Curtis Granderson recorded two hits and an RBI for New York, which has lost five of its last six contests. Bobby Abreu also drove in a run and Bartolo Colon (8-7) was reached for five runs and eight hits over seven frames en route to his second consecutive loss following an eight-game unbeaten streak.

Texas jumped all over Colon in the first inning as Elvis Andrus and Rios hit back-to-back one-out doubles to produce the game's first run and Chirinos belted a three-run shot later in the frame. Beltre made it 5-0 in the third with a two-out solo blast, his 11th homer of the season and second in two days, before the Mets began a comeback attempt in the bottom half.

Granderson delivered an RBI double and Abreu added a run-scoring single to get New York within three, and d'Arnaud led off the fourth with his fifth homer. Juan Lagares prevented Texas from extending its lead by throwing out Carlos Pena at the plate in the eighth, but the center fielder squandered an opportunity in the bottom of the inning by grounding into a double play with two on and none out before d'Arnaud flied out to end the frame.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York 3B David Wright returned to the lineup after missing seven games with a shoulder injury and went 1-for-4 with a double. ... The victory was Texas' first on the road since June 16 at Oakland. ... The Mets are 1-1 on their 10-game homestand.
