Mets 7, Angels 6 (13): Anthony Recker knocked in three runs and hit a go-ahead solo homer to lead off the top of the 13th inning as visiting New York outlasted Los Angeles to even the three-game series at one apiece.

Lucas Duda had a pair of hits, including a solo homer, and scored twice while Omar Quintanilla added three hits and two RBIs for the Mets. Recker hit a 1-1 pitch over the left-field wall and John Lannan (1-0) retired all six batters he faced to earn the victory for New York, which lost in 11 innings Friday.

Raul Ibanez’s three-run homer – his 2,000th career hit -- with two outs in the bottom of the ninth off closer Jose Valverde tied the game at 6-6. Collin Cowgill and Chris Iannetta belted solo homers, Albert Pujols knocked in a run and Matt Shoemaker (0-1) gave up Recker’s blast to take the loss.

Iannetta homered to left-center field with two outs in the fifth and Cowgill led off the sixth with his blast to push the lead to 3-1. Juan Lagares brought the Mets within one with a two-out single in the seventh and Recker followed with a single off Fernando Salas that fell just in front of Mike Trout’s dive in center field for a 4-3 lead.

Quintanilla drilled a two-run single in the ninth to give the Mets a 6-3 lead and Valverde retired the first two batters in the bottom of the inning. David Freese singled and Erick Aybar walked before Ibanez hammered a 1-0 pitch way over the right-field wall to send the game to extra innings.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York starter Jon Niese allowed three runs, six hits and struck out five in 7 1/3 innings while Jered Weaver gave up four runs on three hits and four walks over the first 6 2/3 innings for the Angels. … Lagares scored two runs and was 2-for-6 to extend his hitting streak to seven games. … Mets pitchers retired the last 13 Angels batters after the Ibanez homer.
