Marlins 8, Nationals 5 (10): Casey McGehee went 4-for-5 and knocked in the go-ahead run in the 10th as visiting Miami finished a two-game sweep of Washington.

Reed Johnson added a two-run double in the 10th for the Marlins, who blew a 4-0 lead before coming up with four hits and three walks in the four-run extra inning. Nate McLouth went 4-for-4 - matching a career high for hits - and drove in two runs while Wilson Ramos was 3-for-6 with a homer for Washington, which left 15 men on base.

Marlins starter Henderson Alvarez cruised through five scoreless innings before leaving with right elbow stiffness. Kevin Slowey (1-0) earned the win with a scoreless ninth while Jerry Blevins (2-2) was charged with the loss after giving up three runs and recording just one out in the 10th.

Miami got to right-hander Jordan Zimmermann in the fourth, when the first four batters of the inning reached base and Garrett Jones, Marcell Ozuna and Adeiny Hechavarria each had RBI singles in a four-run frame. McLouth doubled home two runs in the sixth to get Washington on the board and Jones' throwing error at first base allowed the Nationals to cut it to 4-3 before they tied it an inning later on Ramos' blast to left.

The Nationals had their chances to end it in regulation, coming up empty in the eighth after loading the bases with no outs and stranding two more runners in the ninth after a pair of one-out singles. The Marlins made them pay for failing to get a run home as McGehee singled off the base of the left-field wall with the bases loaded in the 10th to break the tie, Johnson followed with a two-run double to deep right and Donovan Solano added an RBI single.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Nationals dropped to 21-2 when scoring at least four runs. … The Marlins were 7-for-13 with runners in scoring position while the Nationals were 2-for-11. … Washington 3B Ryan Zimmerman took full batting practice and fielded ground balls at first base Wednesday for the first time since a broken thumb landed him on the disabled list April 12. The Nationals have indicated Zimmerman could see time at first and third base and in left field upon his return.
