Dodgers 1, Cardinals 0: Josh Beckett outdueled Adam Wainwright and Justin Turner drove in the go-ahead run in the eighth as Los Angeles edged visiting St. Louis.

Beckett scattered four hits and walked a pair while striking out four in seven innings to post his third scoreless outing in the last four starts. Wainwright (10-4) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and ended up allowing one run on five hits while striking out seven in a complete-game loss.

Juan Uribe led off the eighth with a single and moved up on a sacrifice before Miguel Rojas beat out an infield single. Turner came on as a pinch hitter and bounced a 1-0 pitch between third and short with the infield drawn in to get the Dodgers on the board.

Wainwright walked Dee Gordon leading off the game but set down the next 15 in a row before Rojas led off the sixth with a single. Beckett worked around leadoff singles in the first and second and stranded a pair of walks in the fourth to keep St. Louis off the board.

The Cardinals had a chance to jump on top in the seventh when Jon Jay followed Allen Craig’s double with a single to left, but Matt Kemp threw out Craig at the plate to keep it a scoreless draw. Brian Wilson (1-2) came on in the eighth and retired the side in order to end up with the win before Kenley Jansen worked the ninth for his 24th save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: St. Louis had a rally snuffed out in the ninth when Peter Bourjos came on with a pinch runner and stole second base easily but had his slide carry him past the bag while Rojas kept the tag on. The play was confirmed with review. … Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez had an MRI exam on his injured right shoulder come back with no structural damage but was held out of his third straight game. … Wainwright has allowed a total of two runs in 23 innings over his last three starts.
