Mariners 10, Astros 5: Mike Zunino and Kyle Seager hit three-run homers during a seven-run fourth inning as Seattle cruised past host Houston.

Robinson Cano had an RBI single in the same inning and Dustin Ackley clubbed two homers for the Mariners. Seattle finished with 12 hits and drew seven walks while moving within a half-game of Kansas City for the American League’s second wild card.

Mariners starter Taijuan Walker (2-2) allowed two runs and eight hits in 5 2/3 innings. Astros standout Jose Altuve went 3-for-3 to raise his major league-leading average to .343.

Dexter Fowler had a run-scoring single in the first for Houston before Ackley tied it in the third with his first blast. Zunino’s three-run shot off Brad Peacock (4-9) made it 4-1, Cano singled in another run and Seager capped the frame with his shot over the fence in right-center field.

Fowler had another RBI single in the fifth and Jonathan Villar had a run-scoring single in the sixth to pull Houston within 8-3. Ackley smacked his second homer in the seventh to make it a six-run margin.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Cano went 3-for-5 after going 3-for-16 over the previous five games. … Peacock allowed seven runs (two earned) and six hits in 3 1/3 innings. … The multi-homer contest is the second of Ackley’s career.
