Indians 10, Dodgers 3: Lonnie Chisenhall hit a two-run homer and Cleveland turned an unusual triple play while routing host Los Angeles.

Yan Gomes, David Murphy and Nick Swisher also had two RBIs apiece as the Indians bounced back from consecutive one-hit shutout losses. Kyle Crockett (2-0) was credited with the victory while Dodgers starter Josh Beckett (5-5) was clubbed for five runs and six hits over five innings.

Cleveland led 5-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning when Los Angeles’ Adrian Gonzalez lofted a fly to left off Crockett with runners on first and third and none out. Michael Brantley’s one-hop throw to the plate cut down Dee Gordon and Yasiel Puig was originally ruled safe while trying to advance to second before Indians manager Terry Francona challenged the ruling.

Puig was ruled out after the play was reviewed and Dodgers manager Don Mattingly then challenged the out call at the plate, but a replay review upheld that ruling to put the triple play in the books. The Indians poured it on with run-scoring doubles by Gomes and Murphy in the sixth to make it 7-3 with the same duo according for two RBIs – Gomes with a double and Murphy on a single – during a three-run eighth.

Gordon had three hits for Los Angeles, which lost for just the fourth time in 18 games and fell a half-game behind San Francisco in the National League West. Cleveland had 13 hits while winning for only the third time in 10 games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The triple play was Cleveland’s first since turning one against the Chicago White Sox on April 3, 2011. … Dodgers SS Hanley Ramirez (calf) was out of the starting lineup for the seventh time in eight games but struck out as a pinch hitter in the fifth. … Cleveland starter Justin Masterson threw 85 pitches and struck out seven in three-plus innings while giving up three runs and seven hits.
