Athletics 11, White Sox 0: Brandon Moss went 3-for-5 with two homers and five RBIs and Josh Reddick added a two-run blast as host Oakland extended its winning streak to a season-best six games.

Drew Pomeranz (3-1) allowed three hits and struck out a career-high eight batters over five innings for the Athletics, who recorded their fifth shutout and have outscored their opponents 39-8 during their win streak. John Jaso went 3-for-5 and scored two runs and the Athletics recorded 17 hits against four Chicago pitchers.

White Sox rookie Scott Carroll (1-3) struggled for the second straight start, allowing six runs on 11 hits over five innings. Frank Francisco followed and yielded three runs in the sixth inning for Chicago, which has lost four straight and five of its last six.

Oakland, which is off to its best start (25-15) since 2003, led 2-0 in the fourth on Craig Gentry’s RBI single before scoring seven runs over the next two innings. The Athletics scored four times in the fifth when Yoenis Cespedes and Derek Norris each doubled in a run and Reddick capped the outburst with a two-run homer into the right-field seats.

Jed Lowrie, Gentry, Cespedes and Reddick had two hits apiece for Oakland, which drew clear with three runs in the sixth on Lowrie’s RBI double and Moss’ two-run homer. Moss, who added a two-run blast in the eighth for his fifth career multi-homer game, is 13-for-37 with four home runs and 11 RBIs over his last nine games.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oakland has won seven straight against the White Sox at home. … Oakland CF Coco Crisp missed his sixth straight game due to a strained neck, but he’s expected to avoid the disabled list. … Oakland’s starting pitchers have a 1.13 ERA (5 ER, 40 IP) during the team’s six-game winning streak.
