White Sox 16, Rangers 2: Marcus Semien delivered a three-run triple as part of a 4-for-6 day and five of his teammates also drove in multiple runs as Chicago avoided a three-game sweep in Texas.

Jose Abreu and Jordan Danks each hit a two-run homer for the White Sox, while Dayan Viciedo added a solo shot to help Chicago snap a four-game slide. Erik Johnson (1-1) and three relievers combined to allow only two hits - both singles - against Texas, which had won its last five games.

Conor Gillaspie and Abreu each finished with three RBIs while Viciedo, Danks and Alejandro De Aza drove in two runs apiece for the White Sox, who posted a two-run inning and a pair of three-run frames before piling it on with seven runs in the ninth. Viciedo and Tyler Flowers each scored three times for Chicago.

The White Sox snapped a 2-2 tie with three runs in the fifth inning, capped by Abreu's opposite-field home run. They plated three more runs in the sixth, helped by a third-strike wild pitch that allowed Alexei Ramirez to reach base before Semien made Rangers starter Robbie Ross (1-1) pay with his bases-clearing triple to left.

Danks' two-run homer initially put the White Sox ahead 2-0 in the third inning. The home run was the first of the season for Danks, while Viciedo belted his first of 2014 in the seventh to make it 9-2 before contributing an RBI single during the ninth-inning uprising that Abreu capped with his run-scoring double.

GAME NOTEBOOK: De Aza was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning, but plate umpire James Hoye ruled that he swung before being hit by the pitch. A challenge by Chicago manager Robin Ventura was upheld and De Aza was called out. ... Ross allowed seven runs - four earned - over 5 1/3 innings while Johnson gave up two runs - one earned - and one hit in five innings, but was pulled after issuing five walks. ... Chicago's road trip continues Monday with the first of four games in Detroit. Texas heads to Oakland for the start of a six-game road trip that also makes a stop in Seattle.
