Marlins 6, Braves 5: Donovan Solano recorded a career-high four hits and Jacob Turner pitched effectively in his return to the starting rotation as visiting Miami held on to win its second straight over Atlanta.

Christian Yelich added two hits and an RBI while scoring three times and Giancarlo Stanton doubled home a run as the Marlins extended their winning streak to three games despite nearly blowing a 6-2 lead. Turner (3-6), making his first start since June 11 after being sent to the bullpen, gave up two runs on four hits with four strikeouts in five innings and Steve Cishek worked the ninth for his 23rd save.

Justin Upton homered and scored two runs while Jason Heyward collected three RBIs for the Braves, who lost for the third time in four contests to fall 1 ½ games behind first-place Washington in the National League East. Mike Minor (3-6) was hammered for six runs on 10 hits in three-plus innings.

The Marlins grabbed a 4-1 lead with three runs in the third on Stanton’s double to left field, Casey McGehee’s RBI groundout and Jeff Baker’s run-scoring single to left. Upton hit a deep two-out blast to left in the bottom of the frame before Miami added two more runs in the fourth.

Turner led off with a double and scored on a single by Yelich, who came home later in the inning on Marcell Ozuna's groundout to make it 6-2. Atlanta climbed within a run in the bottom of the eighth as Tommy La Stella delivered an RBI single before Heyward’s base hit to right-center scored B.J. and Justin Upton.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Both teams had plenty of chances while loading the bases in the first inning, but Miami had to settle for Yelich scoring on McGehee’s double-play grounder while Atlanta evened the score on Heyward’s single that plated B.J. Upton. … The Marlins finished 5-for-18 with runners in scoring position and stranded 10 baserunners. … Braves 3B Chris Johnson singled to lead off the ninth inning, but PR Jordan Schafer was thrown out attempting to steal second.
