Braves 8, Phillies 2: Tommy La Stella doubled twice and drove in three runs while Chris Johnson belted a two-run homer as host Atlanta won the rubber match of the three-game series.

La Stella’s bases-clearing double capped a four-run third for the Braves, who have won four of their last five and scored six or more runs in each victory. Alex Wood (7-7), who had received one run or fewer of support in six of his first 11 starts, struck out eight and allowed one run on three hits in six innings.

Justin Upton added two hits and scored twice for the Braves. John Mayberry Jr. and Marlon Byrd hit solo homers for Philadelphia, but Kyle Kendrick (4-10) gave up six runs on five hits in five innings.

Mayberry hit a 2-2 pitch from Wood into the front row of the left-field seats with one out in the second to stake the Phillies to a brief 1-0 advantage. Upton doubled to right leading off the bottom of the inning and, two hitters later, Johnson hammered a 1-0 offering over the fence in left-center to put the Braves ahead.

Kendrick fell apart in the third, walking B.J. Upton and hitting Freddie Freeman and Justin Upton to load the bases before walking Jason Heyward to force in a run. La Stella followed two batters later with a double into the right-center field gap, plating three runs and pushing the advantage to 6-1.
