Braves 3, Marlins 1: Pinch hitter Evan Gattis drilled a two-run double into the left-field corner to snap a tie with two outs in the eighth inning as host Atlanta took the rubber match of a three-game series.

Gattis registered his third two-base hit of the season off reliever A.J. Ramos for the winner, Jason Heyward collected two singles and Ryan Doumit recorded his second RBI of the season for the Braves. David Carpenter (1-0) retired one batter with two on in the eighth for the win and Craig Kimbrel pitched a perfect ninth for his sixth save.

Derek Dietrich had a pair of singles, Christian Yelich extended his hitting streak to 17 games and Giancarlo Stanton knocked in his 27th run for Miami. Marlins starter Nathan Eovaldi gave up one unearned run on five hits over six frames with seven strikeouts before Mike Dunn (1-3) gave up two runs on one hit to suffer the defeat.

Jeff Mathis led off the sixth with a bunt single for the Marlins, moved to second on Marcell Ozuna’s two-out single and scored on Stanton’s bloop double to tie the game at 1-1. A walk and a two-out infield single by Dan Uggla in the eighth off Dunn set up Gattis, who won Monday’s game with a walk-off two-run homer in the 10th.

Starter Aaron Harang fanned seven batters and yielded only one hit through the first four innings before the Braves gave him an unearned run. Chris Johnson reached on a throwing error by shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria to lead off the fourth, moved to second on a wild pitch and sprinted home on Doumit’s single up the middle.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Harang gave the Braves their 10th consecutive quality start and major league-leading 18th overall, allowing one run on six hits in six-plus innings while striking out 11. …The Marlins recalled RHP Carter Capps, who was acquired from Seattle in the offseason, and optioned RHP Arquimedes Caminero to Triple-A New Orleans. … Miami RHP Carlos Marmol left the game with a right hamstring strain after walking Heyward in seventh inning.
