Mets 4, Braves 0: Bartolo Colon threw seven scoreless innings as New York spoiled Atlanta's home opener.

Ruben Tejada had two RBI singles and scored twice and Eric Young Jr. recorded two hits, an RBI and two stolen bases for the Mets, who opened a nine-game road trip in fine fashion. Colon (1-1) scattered six hits and struck out five to pick up his first National League win since 2002 with Montreal.

Aaron Harang (1-1) suffered the loss despite letting up a run and just two hits while striking out nine in six frames. Jason Heyward flew to the warning track in center field with the bases loaded in the ninth to end the game and extend his hitless drought to 22 at-bats.

Tejada walked to begin the third, moved to third base with two outs and scored the game's first run when Harang uncorked a wild pitch. Travis d'Arnaud greeted Braves reliever Gus Schlosser with a bloop double to start the seventh before Tejada's base hit to right made it 2-0.

Young drove in Tejada moments later and Tejada capped the scoring with another RBI base hit in the eighth. Kyle Farnsworth retired the side in order in the bottom half and Jose Valverde escaped the bases-loaded jam in the ninth as New York won for the third time in four games following an 0-3 start.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Hank Aaron was honored pregame on the 40th anniversary of his 715th home run, which broke Babe Ruth's longstanding record. ... Umpires held a review on an out call at first base on Mets CF Juan Lagares in the top of the eighth. It was overturned in New York's favor in three minutes. ... Braves LH Luis Avilan left in the seventh with a hamstring strain suffered while trying to avoid a piece of a broken bat on a single by Mets 2B Daniel Murphy.
