Diamondbacks 4, Reds 0:
Josh Collmenter tossed a three-hitter for his first career shutout as host Arizona won the opener of a four-game series.

Aaron Hill went 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBIs, Martin Prado added two hits and a run-scoring single and A.J. Pollock doubled and tripled to lift the Diamondbacks to their fifth win in seven games. Collmenter (4-2), helped by three double plays, faced the minimum 27 batters in winning his third consecutive start.

Brayan Pena had a pair of hits for Cincinnati, which fell to 1-5 over its last six games and has scored only 12 runs in that span. Left-hander Tony Cingrani (2-5) lost his third straight start, yielding three runs (two earned) on seven hits in five-plus innings.

Pollock doubled to lead off the bottom of the first, stole third and scored when catcher Devin Mesoraco's throw sailed into left field. Hill led off the fourth with a solo shot to left-center to double the lead before Arizona chased Cingrani in the sixth.

Prado led off the frame with a double to left-center and came around on Hill's single to center to make it 3-0, ending Cingrani's night in favor of J.J. Hoover. The Diamondbacks added an insurance tally in the seventh on Pollock's triple and Prado's two-out single.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Collmenter became the second pitcher in franchise history (Randy Johnson, 2004) to face the minimum 27 batters in a nine-inning game. ... Prado ran his RBI string to five games and has knocked in nine runs in his last seven games. ... Pena extended his hitting streak to seven games and boosted his career numbers against Arizona to 14-for-32. ... Hill halted a homerless drought of 10 games while Pollock had his third multiple-hit game in his last four and is 8-for-16 in that stretch.
