Mets 4, Phillies 3: Juan Lagares matched a career high with three hits and drove home the go-ahead run with a sixth-inning double as visiting New York rallied to win for the fourth time in five games.

Eric Young Jr. collected two hits in his third contest since being acquired from the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday as the Mets broke their five-game losing streak to Philadelphia. Jeremy Hefner (2-6) won for the first time in four starts, yielding three runs (two earned) and 10 hits while striking out six over six innings.

Domonic Brown and Ben Revere each had two hits and drove in a run for the Phillies, who lost their second straight at home after winning their previous six at Citizens Bank Park. Cole Hamels (2-11) allowed four runs and seven hits over six innings to take over the major-league lead in defeats.

Philadelphia provided Hamels – who is among the worst-supported starters in the majors – with three runs in the second on a run-scoring grounder past first base from Brown and a fielder’s choice grounder by Revere. Daniel Murphy’s error at second three batters later allowed the Phillies to add an unearned run.

David Wright's hard-hit RBI single to left in the fourth got the Mets on the board while Young’s two-run single in the fifth knotted the game at 3-3. Lagares’ one-hop line-drive to the gap in left-center capped the rally and Bobby Parnell closed out three near-perfect relief innings by the Mets with a flawless ninth for his 12th save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The 11 losses by Hamels matched his career-high totals from 2009 and 2010. … New York’s win was only the second in its last 11 games against the Phillies. … Philadelphia 2B Chase Utley, sidelined since May 23 because of an oblique strain, finished 0-for-5.
