Rays 7, Twins 0: Desmond Jennings recorded a pair of doubles and knocked in two runs as visiting Tampa Bay rolled over Minnesota in a rain-delayed contest to earn its third straight victory.

Yunel Escobar and Evan Longoria each added two hits and an RBI for the Rays, who tied Texas for the first American League wild-card spot while remaining 1 1/2 games ahead of Cleveland. Brandon Gomes (1-1) pitched a hitless fourth inning and was awarded the victory as Tampa Bay won its 11th straight over the Twins dating back to last season.

Minnesota starter Andrew Albers (2-3) gave up four runs and six hits over four innings, dropping to 0-3 in his last six starts after winning his first two. Pedro Florimon registered a double for the Twins, who have lost four straight and eight of 10.

Wil Myers doubled and scored on Sean Rodriguez's sacrifice fly in the second inning and Longoria’s two-base hit to deep right knocked home another in the third. Escobar singled home one run and Jose Lobaton’s sacrifice fly made it 4-0 in the fourth before a rain delay of 2 hours and 4 minutes.

Tampa Bay starter Matt Moore allowed no runs, one hit and three walks while striking out five in three innings before being pulled due to the long delay. Jennings doubled home Rodriguez, and Escobar also scored on an error in the sixth as the Rays put the game away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Jennings is 4-for-13 with a homer and four RBIs over the last three games for Tampa Bay after collecting only two hits in 18 at-bats his previous seven contests. … Minnesota is 9-23 against AL East opponents this season, including 0-6 against the Rays. … The Durham Bulls, the Rays’ Triple-A affiliate, won the International League championship on Saturday.
