Pirates 3, Dodgers 0:
Jeff Locke allowed two hits in seven innings and Andrew McCutchen delivered a two-run double as host Pittsburgh recorded a rare victory over Los Angeles.

Neil Walker added a sacrifice fly for the Pirates, who defeated the Dodgers for only the second time in the last 14 meetings and second in the last eight encounters at PNC Park. Locke (6-1), who has allowed three earned runs or fewer in 11 straight starts, walked one and struck out five while throwing only 75 pitches.

Rookie sensation Yasiel Puig had two hits while Stephen Fife (1-2) yielded two runs in five innings as Los Angeles lost for the fifth time in six games. The Dodgers had runners on second and third with two outs in the eighth before Mark Melancon struck out pinch hitter Juan Uribe, who entered the game 4-for-6 in that role.

Puig and Nick Punto led off the ninth inning with singles against closer Jason Grilli before Adrian Gonzalez struck out and Hanley Ramirez popped out. Grilli earned his 24th save - tying for the major-league lead - in as many chances when he struck out Mark Ellis to complete the six-hitter.

Alex Presley and Russell Martin led off the third inning with singles before McCutchen delivered a double down the right-field line. Pittsburgh added an insurance run in the eighth inning as McCutchen scored when Gonzalez caught Walker's foul pop running away from home plate.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Locke is the only starter from Pittsburgh's season-opening rotation on the active roster. RHPs A.J. Burnett and James McDonald, and LHP Wandy Rodriguez are on the disabled list while LHP Jonathan Sanchez was released in April. ... Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly and RHP Ronald Belisario served the one-game suspensions they received for their parts in Tuesday's benches-clearing brawl with Arizona. Bench coach Trey Hillman took Mattingly's place. Dodgers LHP J.P. Howell and utility man Skip Schumaker received two-game suspensions, but they will appeal. ... Pirates LF Starling Marte missed his second straight game because of soreness in his left rib cage.
