Twins 4, Astros 3 (13): Brian Dozier hit the game-tying RBI single in the ninth inning before ripping a walk-off base hit in the 13th as host Minnesota overcame a pair of late deficits to snap a four-game losing streak.
Clete Thomas worked a one-out walk in the 13th from Dallas Keuchel (5-6), who was scheduled to start Sunday's contest. Pitcher Kevin Correia entered the game as a pinch-hitter and sacrificed Thomas to second before Dozier ripped a 1-1 changeup into right field to drive in the winning run.
Houston claimed a 3-2 lead on Matt Dominguez's RBI double in the ninth inning, but Minnesota answered as pinch-runner Doug Bernier advanced to third on Chia-Jen Lo's wild pitch before scoring on Dozier's single.
Ryan Pressly (3-2) allowed one hit over two innings to pick up the win. Justin Morneau ripped a run-scoring single in the eighth and Joe Mauer lifted a sacrifice fly in the third for the Twins, who won for just the third time in nine outings.
Jason Castro bounced a two-out, two-run single up the middle in the fifth for the Astros, who fell for the 11th time in 14 contests.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Houston rookie RHP Jarred Cosart tossed seven solid innings to notch his fourth quality start in as many outings but settled for a no-decision. Cosart, who allowed one run on five hits, has yielded three earned runs in 28 frames since being called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City. ... Houston CF Brandon Barnes went 1-for-4 in his return from a lower back strain, while 2B Jose Altuve missed his second straight contest with a left quadriceps injury. ... Friday's contest was the first between the teams since the Astros won two of three at Minnesota in 2009.
