Marlins 5, Rockies 3: Rob Brantly scored on a wild pitch in the eighth inning to snap a scoreless tie and visiting Miami added four in the ninth, highlighted by a two-run blast from Donovan Solano, to take three of four in the series.

Giancarlo Stanton belted his second double to give the Marlins a 2-0 lead, Ed Lucas singled home another and Solano recorded his second homer of the season to left field off Wilton Lopez in the ninth-inning rally. Dan Jennings (1-1) pitched a perfect seventh inning to earn the victory for Miami.

Michael Cuddyer and Wilin Rosario, who had two hits each, knocked in a run apiece as the Rockies scored three in the ninth inning. Steve Cishek came on to relieve Kevin Slowey and get the final three outs, the last two on a double-play grounder, for his 20th save.

The game was delayed by rain for 1 hour, 33 minutes in the seventh inning and the Marlins took the lead in their next at-bat with a two-out rally. Brantly singled, moved to third on Greg Dobbs’ pinch-hit single and scored when Adam Ottavino (0-2) threw a pitch in the dirt that got away.

Miami starter Nathan Eovaldi allowed only three hits, striking out four, after losing for the first time in three decisions last Saturday. Colorado’s Juan Nicasio gave up only two hits and struck out nine in the first seven innings, retiring the Marlins in order four times.
